Bandeep Singh
Born in Chandigarh in 1971, Singh is a self-taught photographer. He is currently working as the India photo editor of Fortune Magazine. He is a reputed editorial photographer and his images have been published in India Today, Time, New York Times, Business Week, Business Today, and numerous other publications.
Singh’s personal photographic work is more conceptual and exploratory. He works in diverse genres ranging from documentary photography, landscape and nature studies to portraiture and eroticism. His work is deeply influenced by his cultural leanings and his deep interest in mysticism, Sufi poetry and music. Singh’s solo shows include ‘Beloved Pangi’, Gaiety Theatre, Shimla, 1994; ‘When Seeing Stops’, Visual Arts Gallery, New Delhi, 2002; and ‘Sa: The Feminine’, MDG Fine Arts Gallery, London, 2005. He has participated in numerous group shows, the most recent being ‘Jaisalmer Yellow’, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, 2007; ‘Lo Real Maravilliso; Marvelous Reality’, Gallery Espace, New Delhi, 2009; and ‘India Awakens Under the Banyan Tree’, Essl Museum, Vienna, 2010. In 2004, he was the recipient of the Charles Wallace India Trust award in photography and he has been on the jury of the India Habitat Centre grant for Photography since 2005. His images were displayed at the 2007 SAARC Summit in New Delhi. His works are in the permanent collection of Essl Museum, Vienna; Nirankari Museum of Faith, New Delhi; and Luxembourg Embassy, New Delhi, as well as in several private collections in India and abroad. Singh lives and works in New Delhi.Bandeep will spearhead the photo exhibitions for the “Haathi Mere Saathi campaign”. He lives and works in New Delhi.
Aditya Arya
An eminent commercial and travel photographer, Aditya Arya began professional photography in 1980 after graduating in History from the St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. After a brief stint in the Mumbai Film Industry where he did stills for some of the leading directors, he moved back to Delhi. In addition to his wide-ranging Commercial and Travel portfolio, his work has been published widely in books and travel magazines around the world. He is known for his expertise in the field of advertising and corporate photography, specializing in Products, Interiors and Food.
Over the last few years, he has been completely immersed in the subject and practice of photographic conservation. He has honed his skills and knowledge on preservation, restoration and archiving particularly through the documentation of historic photographic works from the famous Kulwant Roy Collection of the pre and post independence era. He has played a pivotal role in the establishment of India Photo Archive Foundation and the Neel Dongre Awards/Grants for Excellence in Photography.
At present, while also actively pursuing his professional advertising and commercial assignments, he divides his time between his photography archive and Museo Camera – the only Photography and Camera Museum in India.With more than 1000 rare and iconic cameras and other equipment, this museum traces the history of photography from the 1870s to the Digital Era.
Today in the fast paced world of megapixels he is also immersing himself in the slowness of analog processes and at the same time slowing down many born digital photographers and artists by mentoring them.
He has been on the Jury of the National Art Exhibition 2014 organized by Lalit Kala Akademi and many other national shows. He has also curated several shows of archival and contemporary visual works, both nationally and internationally. These include the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi and the National Museum, New Delhi, and several galleries and museums in Canada, London, France, Spain.
Pramod Pushkarna
Pramod Pushkarna is a Group Photo Editor, National Herald and sister publications, from Jan 2017 and well known as a WAR PHOTOGRAPHER.
Before this, He worked as a Professional Designation over the years in different media houses. He worked as a Group Photo Editor, The Sunday Guardian, Aaj Samaj & other publications of Good Morning Media from Oct 2007 to Dec 2015. Photo Editor, The Sunday Indian, April 2005 – October 2007. Deputy Chief Photographer, of India Today, where he was news photographer from 1978 to Apr 2003. Worked as a Staff photographer in National Herald, from 1973-78. Photo Officer, National Museum, from 1970-73. Part time photographer with daily “Adhikar ” from 1967-70, as a student.
Specialization :
Hard news. Over the years, He had covered, with distinction, militancy along the Indian borders, in the North East, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the Sri Lankan conflict. From Nellie massacre in Assam, Blue Star to Black Thunder in Punjab, to the Hazrat Bal siege and Charar-e-Sharief debacle, Siachen to Kargil conflict, the Morvi flood, Uttarakand Earthquakes, He had told the entire story through my camera lens. He was the first Indian photographer to have entered Pak Occupied Kashmir (POK) and to record the lives of soldiers at the Siachen glacier. Human-interest photo features, environment related stories, sports events, and pictorial capturing of the country’s shifting social, political and cultural scenario over the last three decades, also form a substantial part of my portfolio. He had also done commercial shoots for products and portfolios, as well as industry, hospitality and tourism sectors. Visiting faculty for photography at Jamia Milia Islamia University, New Delhi, from time to time. Have dabbled in video shoots and documentaries.
Rohit Parihar
Rohit Parihar is the Assistant Editor of India Today. After graduating in Physics (Honours), he studied Mass Communications at Panjab University, Chandigarh. He is in journalism for 23 years. He has covered Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. He joined India Today in 1996 and is based in Jaipur since 1997. He is an alumni of two prestigious international programmes, Chevening (UK) and International Visitors Leadership Programme (US).
He has won many honours and awards through his career in media. He has been awarded the Chevening Fellowship at University of Westmin st re, London in the year 2000. He was nominated and selected for the International Visitors Leadership Programme in Human Trafficking in US in 2006 and has also been awarded the Sawai Madho Singh Award for Investigative Journalism in the year 2006.
MS. Dharmendar Kanwar
Dharmendar Kanwar is a much awarded travel writer who began writing professionally soon after her graduation. She has written scripts for television documentaries and contributed stories and photographs to almost all the major magazines and
newspapers in the country.
Writing is a full-time activity for Dharmendar Kanwar, she has been equally involved with heritage conservations. She
has worked extensively with Rajasthan Tourism, for whom she has produced several award-winning brochures and
books. In an illustrious 25-year career, her contribution to the promotion of Rajasthan’s art and architectural heritage was recognized in no small measure by the grant of the Maharaja Vishan Singh Award for her contribution to the field of Travel & Tourism (2012). She was also awarded as the Best Travel Writer (English) in 1993-94 by the Government of Rajasthan.
Dharmendar was closely associated with Rajmata Gayatri Devi and among her many publications are two biographies of the celebrated Rajmata Gayatri Devi of Jaipur – Enduring Grace and The Last Queen of Jaipur. She is also the Managing Trustee of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh Benevolent Trust, a charitable Trust started by the late Rajmata. She is also Convenor of the Jaipur Chapter of INTACH. Himanshu Joshi
A journalist with nearly 25 years of experience in various newspapers and magazines, Himanshu Joshi has worked for The Hindustan Times, The Times of India, Outlook, Sahara and Observer groups, among others. He is an avid traveller with a keen interest in anthropology and is currently the Editor & Publisher of a monthly travel and culture magazine, Terrascape, published from New Delhi. He has authored a coffee table book — Unknown Himalayas’, published by Roli (2008), and the Thomas Cook City Spots guidebook on Delhi (July 2009). He is interested in photography and his photographs have been published in a number of publications apart from the books above mentioned.
Sakhamitra Ashwini
Sakhamitra Ashwini is Creative Head of an advertising and PR agency named, Studio ABCD, based in Mumbai that offer services in brand building, products, films and events but Studio ABCD specialize in concept (related to any product, person and services) and designing both in India as well as abroad.
Sakhamitra Ashwini specialises in creative expression in the form of his pictures, which do not need any words or write up. His innovative creativity speaks for itself. He had developed the concept and design for the historic and highly successful Shri Narendra Modi’s Vibrant Gujarat 2009 event. Today, when we see our Sahebji, Shri Narendra Modi as our Prime Minister we endeavor to fulfill his MAKE IN INDIA and DIGITAL INDIA dream.
As mentioned earlier, Studio ABCD specialize in concept and designing and we have a vast experience in the field. Studio ABCD had specifically designed the concept of thought /vision of Narendra Modi for Vibrant Gujarat in 2009 and the Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat had approved the same without any changes or correction. It was highly appreciated by the foreign delegates & the visitors. Studio ABCD have carried out various types of work related to concept and designing for various companies, MNC’s,State government, private companies and NGO’s also. Few of them are mentioned below:
- State of Madhya Pradesh: One of our clients (MineCorp India) is in the mining industry and Studio ABCD had developed a film on mining in Madhya Pradesh explaining the potential of the State in the mining industry and it benefits. The film was not only appreciated by the Honorable Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan but was also approved.
- Studio ABCD had worked on the concept of woman empowerment named, “Awakening Thoughts” which was a book of Hindi poems based on the atrocities inflicted on women inspired by Nirbhaya case. Sakhamitra Ashwini had written around 20 poems in Hindi, which was inaugurated by the Women Commission Chief, Smt. Mamta Sharma in 2013.
- Studio ABCD had developed a short film called “Path of Ahimsa” based on Acharya Shri Mahapragya ji and Shri APJ Abdul Kalam’s (Former President of India) friendship and their contribution to the society. The DVD was inaugurated by the Mayor of New Jersey, Mr. John McCormick in New Jersey, USA in 2011.
Umesh Gogna
Umesh Gogna hails from a business family. While writing his thesis and short listing some photographs clicked by him, he realised that photography was his passion and soon decided to consider it as a full time profession. His work mostly comprises in the field of Handicrafts, Jewellery and the Hospitality Industry. A traveller at heart, Umesh Gogna loves to capture nature through his camera lens. Over the years he has spent a lot of time documenting the cultural architectural and natural heritage of Rajasthan and the Himalayas. The wilderness and the open paces of the desert and the mountains attract and inspire him. His work has been published in several books on these subjects.
In order to help the young and amateur photographers, Gogna conducts workshops on subjects related to Portraiture, Photographing Jewellery, Fashion Photography, Digital Photography and Digital Post Production. He has conducted workshops for Canon India Ltd., Allahabad University, BITS Pilani Photography Club, Women’s Polytechnic College, Jaipur, Camarena (Multi Brand Stores in India), Central University of Bihar, Patna. Gogna is also a member of DPA (India’s Largest Stock Photo Agency) Dinodia Picture Agency, Mumbai. Gogna is also from March 2015 became Sony Alpha Mentor and Brand Ambassador and Conducted 150 plus Photography workshops allover India.
