Dr. Nico Carpentier is an Extraordinary Professor at Charles University in Prague; he also holds part-time positions at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB – Free University of Brussels), as Associate Professor, and at Uppsala University, as Senior Researcher. He is currently also president of IAMCR, the International Association of Media and Communication Research (IAMCR). Some of his latest books are the monograph The Discursive-Material Knot: Cyprus in Conflict and Community Media Participation (2017, Peter Lang, New York) and the edited volume Communication and Discourse Theory (2019, co-edited with Leen Van Brussel and Benjamin De Cleen). His new monograph, “ICONOCLASTIC CONTROVERSIES: A photographic inquiry into antagonistic nationalism”, is expected to be published mid-2021.

Ms. Lise Olsen
Senior Investigative Journalist & Editor at Texas Observer

Ms. Lise Olsen is an investigative reporter based in Texas who specializes in narrative and data journalism. Her work has freed unjustly detained prisoners, prompted reforms and federal prosecutions. She is currently a Senior Reporter and Editor at the Texas Observer Magazine and her outstanding work has recently appeared on NBC News, Inside Climate News and The Houston Chronicle along with highlighted in other publications also. Her investigations also have been featured in two documentaries, “The Eleven” on A & E Network and “The Wrong Man” on CNN’s Death Row Stories. She has organized and taught workshops and conferences in a dozen countries for many journalism organizations including a 2020 Massive Open Online Course for the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas that had more than 3,000 participants. She is currently writing a book about a ‘Federal Judge imprisoned for abusing his employees’.

Mr. Tracey Eaton is an Award-Winning Writer, acclaimed Investigative Journalist and a Photojournalist. He has worked throughout Latin America and is a former Fulbright scholar in Ecuador. Eaton reported many investigative stories for The Fort Myers News-Press, The Miami Herald, The Tampa Tribune, Fort Collins Coloradoan, The Orange County Register, contributed reports to ‘The New York Times’ Cuba page, served as Metropolitan Editor & Mexico/Border Editor with Houston Chronicle, headed Dallas Morning News bureaus in Mexico and Cuba and worked as a field producer for NBC News in Havana. Mr. Tracey created documentary “Grietas de Muerte” (“Cracks of Death”) for CiberCuba, produced story series about the murders of transgender women for an online news outlet ‘Insider’, which has 97 million monthly visitors, and produced a documentary called, “Las Damas de Blanco and their fight for the streets of Cuba.” He went to Afghanistan after 9/11 and covered the U.S. invasion and battles between the Northern Alliance and the Taliban.
He was invited by UNESCO’s Paris headquarters on the 70th anniversary of the United Nations agency for multi-sensory projection show of photos and videos captured in Cuba and Ecuador to the Mosaic of Change, a collection from around the world. Mr. Tracey achieved numerous Pulitzer Center Grants for investigative journalism projects named – Death Traps, Bolivian Youth, Cuban Youth: “Cuba: The Battle for Hearts and Minds,” and Fulbright grant also. He had published a book called “Cuban Thunder: Harley-Davidson in Cuba”, and written a chapter in the book “Memorable Characters of Cuba,” in a Contemporary Cuba Reader: The Revolution Under Raúl Castro (Rowman-Littlefield, 2014). He is now a freelance journalist and teaches journalism at Flagler College in Florida.

Mr. Alexander Belenky

Mr. Alexander Belenky was an engineer, but changed his profession in age of 28 and worked as a Staff Photographer in several daily newspapers. He was associated with the newspaper named “Smena” which means “new generation” with its 300 thousands daily issues, worked for Izhorets, served to “Kommersant-daily” business newspaper etc. Alexander did freelancing photography with magazines in Russia – “Ogonyek”, “Newsweek”, “Pulse”, Mosco Times, Domovoy and worked as staff photographer in an English newspaper “The St, Petersburg Times”. His photography work has been cited by the Sunday Times, the Boston Globe, Guardian and a couple of times in the New York Times also.
He along with his colleagues from Finland and Sweden published photos in various Finnish and Swedish newspapers and in the reputed magazines also. His photographs were also featured in several books and guide books, published in Cyprus and Rome. His books were published by the reputed Peter Publishing House in Russian language and the translated names of the books in English are – School of Skill, Digital Photography, Photography in difficult situations, & Digital Photography- School of Excellence. Mr. Akexander was associated as still photographer in the popular film “Russian Arc” directed by awarded director Alexader Sokurov.

Mr. Purushottam Diwakar is having 25 years of rich experience in photojournalism and got the opportunity to capture exclusive stories and events around the globe. He was born and brought up at Jodhpur (Rajasthan) and completed Bachelor in Journalism & Mass Communication from The Global University, Nagaland. He is associated with India’s highly reputed & premier news magazine ‘India Today’ as a Senior Photojournalist since 1998. He holds the merit of mainstream Photojournalism and various International assignments in Africa, Thailand and Dubai. His many evident photographs achieved the cover pages of the magazine ‘India Today’ and appreciated throughout the world. Mr. Purushottam headed a development project in Ghana, Africa named ‘Building a better life for Cocoa farmers’ in 2015 and 2017. His assignment in Congo outlined the problems of the community and the investigative pictures brought the attention in 2018. The other project in 2017 was undertaken by him on Indian Tourism in Thailand which uncovered many stories of importance. During this professional journey he got associated with many NGOs and companies like Care India, Alliance India, Cairn Energy for photo documentation of their numerous projects.
Mr. Purushottam had also accomplished many photo assignments for the international magazine, ‘TIME Magazine’ and renowned photo agency, ‘SIPA Press’. He covered the major events in the country like Serious Draught in Rajasthan, Devastating Earthquake in Gujarat, World’s Largest Fire in Indian Oil Corporation’s Oil Tanks at Jaipur, Serial Bomb Blasts by terrorists in Jaipur city, Unprecedented Godhara Massacre, Mass Agitation on Reservation by Gurjar Community in Rajasthan etc. His camera outlined the rare images related to social issues like woman & child health, nutrition, girl education, gender discrimination, HIV, water crisis in Rajasthan, preservation of culture & heritage and many more issues. His efforts and service to the people had achieved recognition’s like ‘Award for Excellence in Photojournalism’ by District Administration, Jodhpur, ‘Photojournalist Award’ by Photojournalist Society of Jodhpur and ‘Award for Excellence’ by National Nature Society, Jaipur. He has designed and conducted a Specialized Workshop for DIPR Photographers of Government of Rajasthan.
He founded IMAGINE Photojournalist Society in 2012 with the objective to transform the skills of Photojournalism and Photography among people and students around the globe. He has trained many professionals, students and learners. The latest experiment of Field reporting on camera is widely quoted as a group of young girls created a milestone in the male dominated field under his specially carved training program named ‘Camera Commando’. The girls worked for 45 days in the extreme harsh conditions, odd temperature, they traveled for around 5000 kilometer in different regions of India and produced the rare glimpses. His IMAGINE Photojournalist Society conducts Photography Exhibitions, Professional Training Camps, Skill Oriented Workshops for students and professionals whereas Research Programs and the Photojournalism Seminar was also launched in 2015. His Photojournalist Society is the one in Asia to hold the yearly National as well as International Seminar on Photojournalism and dedicated to Photojournalism Literacy.

Mr. Ayodhya Prasad is a Corporate Communication professional, a Theater Artist, an Avid Traveler, established Writer and Motivational Speaker. He started writing while pursuing a Master’s degree at JNV University and later worked for regional and national newspapers including Hindustan Times. His first book—a biographical novel about the life and time of the last queen of Marwar, has been termed as the ‘first biographical novel’ of Hindi literature. Second book ‘Durg Gaatha’ has been adapted for Mega Light and show on Veer Durgadas Rathore. His third book ‘Chautha Dhandha’ exposes dark side of journalism in India. ‘The Vulture’s Feast’ is his fourth book where as a co-author he shares his own experiences as a journalist. Mr. Gaur is a founding member of the Press Club in Jodhpur, the city where he currently resides, and Rajasthan Heritage and Nature Society (RAJHANS).
